The Housing & Finance Institute was established in 2015 with the support of the UK Government, businesses and councils.

It has a single purpose: to boost the capacity and delivery of housing.

It does this through bringing together foremost expertise in housing and finance from across the country.

Working with central and local government and building relationships between capable councils, businesses and investors who want to do more or work differently.

How do we work?

A top flight board

The board of the Housing & Finance Institute is one of the strongest in the country. It is chaired by Sir Mark Boleat and its directors include some of the most experienced and respected senior people representing the highest level of achievement at central government, local government and in business. The HFi board has a significant pool of experience and relationships across industry and the public sectors that is brought to bear to support the work of the Institute for the benefit of the organisation and its members.

Working with leading organisations

The Housing & Finance Institute works with a range of senior organisations and people from councils, business and finance. They have something important in common - an appetite to do more in housing, to work innovatively and differently – and to work together and collaboratively to build the homes our country needs.

Events, programmes and research

The Housing & Finance Institute works in three ways: through industry groups,  technical excellence programmes and research/ publications.
