Inside Housing: Who’s Who in Local Authority Housing Development
Who are the people leading the way on enabling and developing housing? Inside Housing is putting together its second annual Who’s Who in Local Authority Housing Development list to highlight the members and officers showing vision, ambition and commitment to meeting housing need. Last year the inaugural project highlighted 35 people and their innovative work (read about them here). Will you or someone you work with be in the 2017 list?
Nominations will be considered by an expert panel, including the HFi’s Natalie Elphicke, the HCA’s Nick Walkley, CIH’s Terrie Alafat, NFA’s Eamon McGoldrick, LGA’s Brian Reynolds, and CIPFA’s Ken Lee. The list will be released at the SOLACE Summit in November. To nominate, submit name, contact details and a brief explanation to www.insidehousing.co.uk/who before 25 August. You may nominate yourself or a colleague.
RESI Conference 2017
Housing – delivering more, making the change
Many councils are doing great work in housing delivery in their areas, and many want to do even more. To help showcase housing opportunities across the country and accelerate housing delivery further, the Housing & Finance Institute (HFi) has partnered up with Property Week to provide a special event programme for this year’s RESI 2017. With a special meeting space and one to one sessions with key suppliers on the exhibition floor, there is plenty of opportunity to meet new contacts and providers. Additionally, a special session will take place from 3pm on the 14 September at the Celtic Manor Resort chaired by the Institute and showcasing councils and property experts talking about the Jurassic Coast, East Kent, Wales and East Anglia.
There are 50 free RESI tickets to give away to local authorities (RRP £750). If you work for a local authority get in touch with email@example.com who will provide you with further details, or contact the RESI team direct by quoting “HFi – free tickets to RESI” with your name, local authority and role to firstname.lastname@example.org and cc in email@example.com. Click here to see the RESI agenda which includes the HFi’s session and the HFi Chairman, Sir Mark Boleat’s session on modern methods of funding.
